Aluminum Cans

The firefighters of Local 2280 support the Aluminum Cans for Burned Children (ACBC) program. Throughout the year, members of Local 2280 travel to each aluminum can drop off location in Jackson Township - the firehouses! The cans are collected and delivered to the Jackson Township Recycling Center, where the cans are weighed. A check is prepared and the money goes directly to the Akron Children’s Burn Unit in Akron, Ohio. The money generated by collecting the aluminum cans assists in buying many garments, therapy devices, and wound-healing aids that are not covered by insurance.
